Professional Development Opportunities

The SPARK Curriculum offers various professional development options for educators and mentors.

  1. Live Virtual Training: Interactive sessions will be held online on January 14-15, 2025.

  2. In-Person Training in Tampa, FL: Stay tuned for rescheduled dates for in-person training. Free for up to 5 staff members per license!

  3. On-Site Training: SPARK trainers travel to your location for personalized sessions.

  4. Train the Trainer (TOT): Additional training in Tampa to equip staff to train others, costing $550 per person.

The SPARK Initiative’s President and CEO, Brooke Wheeldon-Reece, along with VP of Learning and Development Ashley Hunt, offer a diverse range of professional development opportunities for organizations and staff.

They deliver transformative 1-3 day professional development retreats, keynotes, presentations, and workshops on topics such as trauma recovery, self-care, resilience, and well-being.

Their sessions are designed to inspire and engage audiences through actionable insights and compelling storytelling.

Self-Study Programs

The SPARK Initiative offers self-study programs designed for flexible, on-demand professional development. 

  1. SPARK Online Parenting Program: Helps parents understand their children and themselves without striving for perfection.

  2. SPARK PD Online for Adults: Supports professional’s well-being and helps them enhance their impact on youth. The course addresses burnout and aims to "fill cups" to maximize potential.

These programs are self-paced and can be revisited anytime.

Live Events

National Wellbeing & Resilience Conference

The National Wellbeing & Resilience Conference (NWRC) is postponed. It aims to restore hope and resilience in youth, families, schools, and communities by bringing together experts and advocates. The event features keynote speakers, workshops, and presentations on trauma recovery, self-care, and mental health. Attendees include professionals from various fields like education, mental health, social work, and more. The Spark Initiative is working to secure new dates and will provide an update in the coming weeks. 

Pre-conference, SPARK Mentoring Program and Insight to Well-Being Program Certification Training will be available.
